The Dead Walk the Earth

Nova glared at Lacey's back as she walked away.
"I'm not running out there! I'm staying put for the moment. And what the hell?! The whole world is overrun with zombies and she thinks she'll have electricity?!"

The PC hummed. "Oh Yes!" she yelled. Thank god for that. There was enough electricity for now to power her laptop. No one was using it so some was still stored, and anyway, there were still some power stations working. Working slowly, and soon to stop, but working for now. The internet window pinged to announce that it had opened, and she quickly accsessed the local CCTV cameras. A scene of chaos and terror greeted her. Whole streets of people lay dead. But not for long, I don't think.

Myra followed Lacey confused at what to do next, killing her own kind was wrong but joinging forces with the enemy was also wrong. Lacey's laptop turned on casting blue light onto their faces.
'If we have enough power and a decent internet connection we should be able to hack the school electricity systems from here and control them' Myra noted. This was a complicated yet useful trick she had been taught by some pro criminal years ago when computers had only just been invented. She started to tap franctically on the keyboard changing settings and hacking software then hey presto, after about 10 minutes the lights gave a promising buzz and flickered on.

The drinks machine in the corner began to buzz, it had been years since Myra had drank anything and she longed to taste coffee just one more time. Knowing it wasnt possible she turned her head back to the laptop proudly. Hopefully they would trust her now.

Nova sighed and leant against the wall of the storeroom. What to do now? She glanced at the boy and at the direction the other girl had gone.
"So who are you?" she asked. She didn't really trust him yet.

Milly got changed into a deep purple top and black skirt with matching tights. Now she looked vampire to her and human to others. She didn't want to discard her dress which has had had for many years so she folded it and shoved it into a bag which she slung over her shoulder.

'I'm Aaron and you?' Aaron answered with slight challenge in his voice knowing full well he wasnt trusted but he couldn't blame her for not knowing who to trust with those creatures wondering around.

Myra sighed as she stepped back fromt he laptop and went to find the others again.

"He's a jerk who likes to shove girls into fountains..." Alyssa said.
She saw the girl in her mind again, how she loved him to treat her like dirt, she should have more respect for herself.
"Oh and don't pull any stunts like you did this morning..." She said,"Ok i'll give you the benefit of the doubt," She stuck out her hand,"I'm Alyssa!"

He didnt shake her hand, it seemed...uncool he simply smiled and nodded wqondering what 'stunt' she was on about. As far as he was aware he had done nothing out of the ordinary.
'Oh and I didnt PUSH her in, I THREW her in' he smirked with an sly grin on his face.

Nova was confused about what they were on about.
"I'm Nova." she said and put her hand up in a sign of greeting. "Anybody got any ideas on what to do? Like possibly get out of this freezing cold store cupboard?"

"OH THAT'S IT!" Alyssa smiled a big wide smile and shoved him into a chair while laughing,"I didn't THROW him into a chair i PUSHED him!" She laughed some more then helped him up.

Ariana sighed as she stared at the school she used to attend, she flew over to a tree outside of the school.

Ok so they invent me a surname and then spell lovingly wrong and then pretend they will miss me!

Aaron laughed as the girl he'd hearrd called Alyssa pushed him into a chair and helped him up again. He liked her she was bright and bringing a funny side to a seriously morbid situation.
'Hey Nova' he replied to her greeting knowing full well she still didnt trust him....yet.

Myra looked around her to make sure she was alone before removing the hidden syrum she carried on her and loading the syringe with the odd looking blue fluid. She gasped as she stabbed the needle into her thigh and waited for the syrum to empty. After recovering for a moment she checked her supplies. 3 containers, not nearly enough to last, soon she would have to find a safe place to sleep and her true form would be unmasked. Without the syrum she could not be a daywalker or control her nature.

Somehow Alyssa felt she could trust Aaron but still not Myra, she knew that Myra was hiding something...

"SO while we're all sitting around here thinking we're safe has anyone worried about the ghosts at all?" She asked,"Oh well..."

This is getting out of control and going too far... She thought, she knew herself what it was like to die at the hands of a strange creature that no one knew... Killing is too far, i have to warn someone...

And with that she headed straigh through some walls and fences and into the school.

'Ghosts? what can they do they're dead' Aaron blurted without thinking then added 'Dont they just walk through things going whooo?'
'Dont be stupid this isnt a game you know! they aren't little kids wearing white sheets they are real and they are dangerous, if one decides to pick up a hockey stick and attack you what kind of chance would you have since most are only visible when they wish to be' Myra snapped impatiently. She was already getting attatched to the humans knowing that most of the dead would sense she was one of them and not harm her.

Nova shifted from foot to foot and bit her lip.
"Well I have a golf club. You guys should grab something too..." She still didn't trust Myra. She seemed mysterious. Aaron seemed pretty normal but she didn't know much about Myra... "What about vampires? I mean how can we trust them if they look like normal people. I mean come on, that girl Lacey... She just walked past the zombies earlier! Maybe they have some garlic bread of something in the kitchen? Does garlic work on vampires..?"

''it's hard to tell, who knows, hollywood could of gotton every single detail wrong about vampires so we can't jump to conclusions about garlic and holy crosses, because that could just be a waste of time'' Quinn said, not looking at anyone, she was leaing against a wall with her arms crossed staring at the other wall opposite her, with her bag at her feet, she still needed to take a moment to realize what the hell was going on, she had never beleived in ghosts or vampires or anything supernatural, she was convinced that they were just made up stories, now her whole beleif system had been turned upside down she needed to recollect her tough side.
''i still can't beleive it'' she finally said ''what exactly are we going to do? theres no way that a bunch of teenagers will be able to stop the apocolypse''

'Garlic doesnt work' Myra spluttered, everyone stared at her curiously.
'Well i've watched all the movies I mean it's worth a shot you know just dont count on it' she saved. If she could still blush like a human she was sure a pink glow would have appeared on her face that moment.
Why was she so stupid? you would think after so many years she could resist the 'all knowing' helpful advice.

Aaron raised an eyebrow at the gothic girl who had made a very unusual comment moments ago.
'wow someone does their research' he thought believing her to be one one of those obsessive goths who study the supernatural as if it were impossible to live without knowing.

Nova glanced at her and raised an eyebrow. She wasn't going to be alone with her unarmed in a hurry. She then turned to Quinn.
"I didn't say we were going to stop it. I say we do what we can to survive. What has everybody got with them?"

Milly stood in the street again looking at the people running away from other things. She sighed and wished she could go back home but she couldn't because the land of the dead had been sealed up. Nobody was inside.

The wind rushed through the open cafeteria door, leaving an eerie calm behind it. Lacey froze, staring into the blackness on the other side of the room. Maybe supplies wasn't such a good idea after all... A rustle. She sprinted back outside, and pushed on the door as hard as she could to hold it closed. After a second, something began to scrape and push at the door. She could feel it opening. Then she saw the others. "Hey!" she screamed. "Hey! There's one in here!"

Myra stared blankly at Nova. She hadnt needed to carry a weapon for years as she could rely on her own defenses. 'well I dont exactly have anything' she murmered.
'I didnt think. I just wanted to run from those creatures as fast as possible but i'm sure we can find weapons around here some place'

Aaron reached his hand to his back and felt the cool metal of the gun. Better stay quiet about it, if nobody knew nobody could use it and cause an accident. In truth he had never fired a gun before in his life either.
He began to empty his baggy pockets. Keys, chewing gum, detention slips, a pocket knife, spanners and a screwdriver.

'any of that good?' he asked hopefully

Nova examined the contents of his pockets and thought about it.
"Chewing gum... No not really... But the knife could come in handy and the spanners and screwdriver are good to have around. What are the keys for?"

As she spoke she pulled out the contents of her bag. Her mobile, penknife, torch and jumper. She also pulled the keys to all the school doors, which were mostly locked, out of her pockets and some money.

Lacey gritted her teeth This was going to be so embarrasing. Humilation or death? It's a hard question. She realised she was going to have to look like an idiot if she wanted to stay alive. She paused. "Help!!" The scream rang through the school and reached the others. They twisted round, surprised.

Nova rolled her eyes and stuffed her things into her bag and pockets and grabbed hold of her extendable golf club. She clipped the catch so it was fully extended and prepared herself.
"It may be a trap... You guys stay close but don't run in until you're sure it's not or something."

She ran towards the voice and saw Lacey next to the door. She kept her eye on her as she removed the keys to the door and slowly opened it with her club at the ready. She got ready to swing and... Jasper the schools cat flashed through the door and out of the school. That made sense. After all. There was no chance that zombies or anything could get into the school as it was so secure.

Adeline giggled, and a small smile wrapped itself around her face. For someone with her intelligence, Lacey could be remarkably stupid. Launching herself down from the roof of the mobile classroom, she wandered up the path. Rounding a corner, she came face to face with a middle aged man, who started rambling about zombies and death, etc. "Oh," she said, snapping his neck with one hand. "Now that is sad."

"Um, well, um," said Lacey, and burst out laughing. How stupid? Strangely enough, she didn't care. Her sister might kill her, she looked stupid, her family were probably dead, she had no friends... But it didn't matter! Fuelled by these revelations, her laughing fit continued. She couldn't see what anyone else was doing, her eyes were blurred and all she could hear was herself.

Aaron smirked as his heart rate decreased again.
'keys to my gaff I think you'd better come round after this is finished' he smirked unable to resist making a flirty comment.

Myra leaned back against the wall, 'we should be alright by sunrise right? vampires and sun dont mix' she asked knwoing that she was an abomination. Only one other she knew of had ever heard of and used the syrum but she couldnt be sure.

Nova checked her watch and clicked her tongue at the time.
"It's only quarter past eleven. We better lie low seeing as it's so dark. Does anybody have any batteries? I don't want my torch to run out and these lights aren't going to hold out forever."

"I do. My laptop needs them though, so I can't use many." She hesitated. "And we should try not to use them if possible. I can't be bothered to go steal any."
A leaf lodged in her hair, and she brushed it carelessly away. "Hey. Guys. Why have all the zombies at the gate stopped yelling?"
