The Dead Walk the Earth

"Honestly" a clear, cold voice called. Adeline shook her head at Trace, dancing out of the reach of her claws, "So hopelessly vulgar..." The lycathrope snarled at her. "Please, please" she sang, "I'm on your side... I just think you're being a little clumsy about it; thats all. I mean whats the attraction in..." She gestured to the mangled corpses on the floor. A pause. "This" Another menacing noice. "Think about it" she whispered, dissolving into the pouring rain.

"Hrm... closest thing to a weapon..." Alyssa thought long and hard, she saw Nove walking down the street with a big bag much like her own,"Hey NOva over here!" She shouted,"We're plotting on where to get slaying equipment from... I kNOW! To the PE block, full of pointy equipment and dangerous things too!"

"Well, i will be back with back up so be VERY careful about what you do or i may posess you off a cliff," Ariana warned them.

Nova thudded down the street with her bag bumping against her back. It was heavy now she'd added a first aid kit and her arm ached from weilding the club. She called out to find the other girl she'd seen before. Where was she?

Then she heard her calling.
"ALYSSA!" she called back and sprinted up to her.

''i'll meet you guys there, i need to get some stuff from my place'' she started sprinting to her place, dodging the random terrified screaming perosn every now and then until she got to her house,
''mum?!'' she called when she entered, ''MUM?!!'' she called louder..no answer, she searched everywhere, no sign of her, there wasn't much time to start calling eveyone they know, phone lines might be down anyway with all the panic.
She grabbed most of her more practical clothes and stuffed them into her school backpack, it was the only bag suitable for travelling that she owned, she also grabbed her guitar (she couldn't leave that behind, who knows what uses it could provide) and as she left she picked up her skateboard which could help her get to places quicker, and she made her way towards the school.

Lacey ran inside the house and grabbed the bag of clothes. Good job I never bothered unpacking. All her other stuff was in the bag on her shoulder. Dashing outside, she caught the others and carried on down the street, pushing past the screaming hordes of people. A thought struck her. Adeline will be here. The tears started to pour down her face. No, No.

Nova ran up to the school gates with the others and leapt up to grab the top of the gate. She scrambled up it and jumped down the other side. Piece of cake. She looked through at the others to see they were pretty reluctant to try it.
"Shall I run to the shed and get some wire clippers? If you run around to the school field side I can cut you in..?" she asked.

Maybe a few could make it on the other side.

"Right erm..." Alyssa said, she was used to jumping over high fences and things, though she wasn't very good at it.

She stepped backwards, ran, then grabbed the top of the gate, she tilted her body toget over the other side. Then fell.

"I'm fine she put up her hand and then stood up...

Ariana was cik of crying, she wanted to join in with the fun, she flew through some buildings and then found Milly on a street.

"HI!" She cried causing some people around her to run away, now this is much better...

Nova examined the big padlock on the gate.
"I bet there's a big set of keys in the caretakers office. If I nab those, I can let you in. Whatever you do, stay there and if a zombie or a vampire or anything comes, use your weapons."

Nova sprinted towards the caretakers office and tried the door. Locked. She shoved her weight against it and started trying to break it open. It didn't budge. She stopped a moment to catch her breath and as she bent down slightly she saw the window of the office was open ever so slightly out of the corner of her eye.

She stood on her tiptoes and pushed her fingers between the window and the ledge and began to prise it open. Slowly, she pushed it up. Now it was open. She took another flying leap at the window, grabbed the windowsill and pulled herself into the tiny room. Maybe there were keys here?

Milly smiled at her friend.
"Nobody wants to talk to me." she whispered and watched all the people running away.
"Maybe it's your clothes?" That was a valid point. She didn't exactly blend in.

"Erm... when i was alive in this town there was a clothes shop around the corner if that helps..." She tried to comfort her friend.

People were still running away and this didn't really help Ariana to comfort Milly.

Alyssa stood on the empty side of the gate and tried to look useful as Nova ran away,"Erm... has anyone thought about what on earth we are going to do?"

Nova looked at the desk overflowing with paperwork. Hang on... Did the caretaker even DO paperwork?! She walked over and shifted a pile of blank paper to the side to find a big pile of porn magazines, a load of sweet wrappers and a few doodlings of some kinda imp like figures.

Nova looked away in disgust and looked around the office. There was a coat hung up in the corner. She searched through the pockets to find breathmints, a car key and an empty wallet. Not there either. She looked around the small space and spotted that the desk had drawers. She opened them and looked through a load more crap like pens and more paper and a few more magazines then BINGO! Keys!

She unlocked the door and started sprinting towards the gate.

"Oh god!" Alyssa cried as zombies were coming towards the people on the other side of the gate.

"Brains..."

"NOVA!" Alyssa shouted, she couldn't run up to NOva she had injured ehrself badly enough.

The kitchen sink on my head, walking into two doors, tripping over that jerks foot, walking into that gravestone, falling off a gate... This day goes from bad to worse!

Nova ran up to the gate with the keys and looked at the huge bunch in her hands. She thrust the baseball bat she had been carrying around at Alyssa.
"Just swing it at them while I find the key!" she cried and she began flicking through the labled keys.

As she looked through them she shouted out the plan.
"Here's what we do, I open the gate and all but Alyssa run in. Then I grab the bat off of Alyssa so she can come in and take as much time as she needs. After that lock the gate again and I'll scramble back up the gate and we're safe."

She found the right key and unlocked the gate.

Alyssa thrashed wildly at some heads,"You do realise this really isn't going to work when the ghosts come!" She shouted back.

She watched as they ran in and then ran backwards through the gate and crashed into a tree,"Yep this day can get worse..." She mumbled.

Ariana crouched behind a TV and wiated for the monster to come on the screen, she knew the film so well that she could predicted, and soon as it was time she stuck her head straight through the television and screamed.

Aaron knew of one place he could go, the place he had always seen as a prison was now to be his sanctuary. School. As he arrived he was surprised to notice others had the same idea. They were breaking in. One girl jumped as a twig snapped under his tatty vans shoes and hurled a blunt object at him. He smoothly ducked to the side and caught it in his hand.
'Whoa take it easy I'm not one of them you know' he laughed and tossed it back into her hand.

Myra looked around the chaos and in the mad rampage of panic she saw one boy who looked like he knew what he was doing, her was her best hope so hoping to stay unnoticed she silently followed him to a modern building. If it wasnt for her perfect vision she would not have seen the sign that was almost invisible in the darkness labelling the building 'school'

Nova climbed back over the gate after throwing her bat as hard as she could at a zombies head. She leapt down to the ground and joined the others on the other side.
"Ok. So vampires can look like humans? If you see anybody in weird clothing they're either A) my mum or B) dead. Run. Should we secure the area or something?"

'Wait' Aaron insisted
'theres a girl out there!' he stated pointing towards the lost looking girl in the sea of dead.
'Hey what you doing crazy head get in here or die!' he called, she looked blanky back at him as if the words had simply passed unnoticed through her brain.
'You speak English?' he asked hopefully. No reply.
'we cant just leave her there' he muttered to the girls he had seen around town before.
He cursed under his breath as he climbed back over the fence intot he sea of zombies and onto the head of some creature which collapsed with a satisfying crunch. He grabbed her hand and pulled her up to the fence before helping her over and attempting to climb back up. undead creatures groaned as they pulled at his clothes trying to keep him on their side of the fence but finally he kicked them free and jumped back over.

Quinn eventually got to the school, she had fallen off her skateboard a few times because people had left alot of objects in the streets and her skateboard ad gotton caught on them and also a zombie nomally surprised her only to result in her using her guitar to knock them to the floor.
She hopped off her skateboard , stuffed it in her bag and climed over the fence.
''hey, up to much?'' she asked in a jokey tone

Trace was full, nothing much to do now, she was bored of killing...for the moment, she had massacured about 3 streets full of people and needed a new challenge, she wanted to be left alone which wasn't hard because humans took one look at her (drenched in blood) and ran screaming, which they were normally doing already.
she spotted a teenager standing in the middle of a street, she was dressed in wierd clothes which signalled one thing
''Oi VAMPIRE!'' Trace shouted, she knew the kids name, Milly, but all vampires are to werewolves are just vampires and thats just what they are labelled as, the vampire turned as she shouted
''what you up to? because i'm bored''

Milly looked over to the werewolf and stumbled over.
"Well... We were thinking of hitting the shops and getting out of these clothes. They're not easy to run around in y'know."

Nova glanced at the boy and girl that had joined them and sniffed. She didn't know them so she didn't trust them. They could be dead...
"Hey guys... I'm weaponless so lets make our way over to the PE block or something." she began to jogg because she didn't feel safe when stationary.

''well that'll kill time i guess'' Trace said, she was set for clothes, she wore punk rocker clothes, which included alot of leather, she could fit in if she wanted to...but she didn't want to, so it didn't really matter what she wore, but still, she liked her clothes, the made her look hardcore.
''lets go then''

Quinn followed Nova, she needed a weapon too, her guitar was good but she hoped that it would come with a better use then just killing zombies...which is actually a pretty good use, but still, she loved her guitar and wasn't going to ruin it.

Lacey leant against the tree, sighing. A thought struck her. "You do realise that we are hopelessly outnumbered. And thats only the zombies. There's more dangerous stuff out there." The others stopped and looked at each other. "And, how do we know that everyone here is human? Only by what we've said. And we met , in some cases, less than 10 minutes ago." They statement hung in the air.

Nova sighed and rolled her eyes.
"Fine. Don't trust me. And in case you haven't noticed, when we whack a zombie over the head, it kinda dissolves into dust anyway. So who's with me? I'm the one with the keys, first aid kit and cereal bars."

She turned around sharply and sprinted to the PE block. She fumbled with the keys and began to unlock the door, waiting for the others to catch up.

Milly smiled at Trace as she knocked on the shop door.
"I think it's closed..." Nobody pointed out that nothing was open because people were running for their lives.

Aaron glanced at the girl who had taken an immediate disliking to him and raised one eyebrow, how could she resist falling for him?

Myra drew a sharp breath as she looked down at the rip in her dress, just above the fabric hem a deep gash marked her skin. She lightly touched it with her finger and examined the blood on her hand in relief that her own blood didnt send her senses into a frenzy. It would heal soon she thought as she wiped the blood that was about to run down her leg and make itself visbale.

Aaron examined the girl he had just 'saved' she was neither hot or ugly infact she was quite average but something about her eyes had caught his attention they seemed deeper than the ocean cloaked in mystery and filled with all the answers to questions that so few people could answer.
'You gonna stop staring at me anytime soon?' she asked wiwth dry humour. Aaron stuutered something and pulled his eyes away from her to make sure he stayed on task and jogged over to the PE block in pursuit of the other girl so arm himself.

''who really cares?!'' shouted Trace as she smashed the shop window ''there we go, easy access'' trace smiled ''now i'm guessing you want to stick to the gothic style''

Quinn sighed, there was bound to be someone who doubted the structure
''i brought pear drops, but i doubt that helps in any way, they were just the only partly edible stuff in my house''

Nova grinned at her and kicked open the PE department door. Everybody ran into the store cupboard which she unlocked and they all filed inside.

Nova spotted a single golf club against the wall and grabbed it. She swung it through the air with ease.
"Extendable... Nice..."

Milly looked reluctant to enter the shop through the open window.
"What about when it comes to pay?" Then she saw the flaw in her flaw. She had no money.

Right. "So, now you're just gonna go charging out there and get yourselves killed. Well good luck. I am off to find some electricity. I think I'm content with watching you." With that, she walked off towards the nearest building where she could see computers, not looking back

Adeline glared at the vampire as she knocked on the door of the shop. What is she doing? A name popped into her head. Milly. With a quiiet tapping of shoes, she walked towards the small group just as the window crumpled into oblivion.. Adopting a friendly pose, she called out in a sweet voice- Only Trace would know her.
"Hello?"
