Silverdale Boarding School For The Gifted II

Jake scrambled up to his feet, momentarily forgetting the huge pain in his ankle and arm. He turned to a group at a campfire, "God, please... Help me... I think I've broken something..."

Oh God. Oh God. Oh God... What if they're normal? He backed away slowly, just as Mayleen Carr appeared from the back of the group, "Hey?" He smiled awkwardly, "Get someone?"

"I barely know anyone..." Mayleen raised an eyebrow.

Catherine took her own sausages and picked them up, despite the blisteringly hot temperature. She attempted to bit into it delicately, flapping her hands in front of her face when she figured out it was too hot.

May wandered over to the group, "Um... Jake's injured..." She said hesitantly, "Do you know where Maya or someone is?"

Saphira rolled her eyes.
"Where is he?" she wondered off in the direction she was pointed in, taking her food with her.

Josh shrugged.
"No idea where Maya is. She's not hungry though. It's nice to know Jake's showed up though. Would be pretty bad if he went missing."

"Riiight," May said slowly, clearly not convinced, "Well fair enough. If Maya shows up again, let her know I asked after her. I haven't really seen her in a while.

Jake writhed on the floor and looked back to Mayleen's group, "Where's that creepy Seb guy gone?" He asked to blank expressions, "Doesn't he usually hang around with you lot?"

Saphira stood over Jake and tutted at him.
"What appears to be the problem?" she asked calmly as she kneeled beside him.

Leon looked out over the tops of the trees and swore again. He couldn't see anything. He looked down at the ground below and suddenly spotted whoever it was that must have run off. Whoever it was, they were leaning against a tree and playing with a small object in their hands.

He began to leap silently from tree to tree.

"I'm not quite sure," Jake looked around awkwardly, "I fell out of a tree..."

He paused as May came back to join the group, rolling her eyes, "Anway, I think my ankle might be broken... And my arm might be sprained."

Maya screamed in frustration, unable to free herself at all.

Mr. Agles hovered behind Alex and Josh's group with Mrs. Talens close behind, "Ah I see you have a lot of food there. Too much for such a small group," His stomach grumbled.

Saphira winced.
"Broken bones are difficult." she admitted. "Which ankle?"

Leon landed in the tree that the person was leaning against. He slowly began to tiptoe down it and paused about two feet away from them. Suddenly he pounced on them. A male voice bellowed out of horror and began kicking and screaming.

"We're waiting for friends." Josh insisted, defensively shielding his plate. Lexy loudly made a point of coughing over hers and Alex tipped his down his pants.
"Shit, sorry guys."

Catherine glances from the teachers and back to the group around the fire. She opened her mouth to say something but stopped short, completely unsure of what to do.

"That is a lot of food for one person Catherine," Mrs. Talens admitted, closing in.

"The left," Jake said, unsure, "I could just... go to a hospital."

The boy coughed and spluttered under Leon's weight, dropping his phone and turning around in alarm. He pushed Leon off and attempted to run. His phone still on the ground.

Leon let go of the boy and watched him run off. He was some emo kid he didn't recognise. He wasn't even sure if he was from Silverdale.
"Hey! Wait! Your phone!" he shouted but the boy didn't look back. Leon scooped up the phone unsurely. He'd just hand it in back at the cabins.

Alex put up a barrier of fire between Cathy and the teachers.
"Hey, if you're really that hungry, you can take some of the sausage in my pants." he shouted. He blushed as he realised what he'd said out loud.

Saphira shooked her head and gently put her hand over the troubled ankle. She focused all of her energy on it and felt it begin to mend slightly.
"This is going to take some time." she whispered weakly.

Jake stared back at her, "Thanks," He smiled slightly, "Just don't over exert yourself..."

Cathy blinked. Once. Twice. She didn't say anything as she watched the whole group go completely silent.

Mr. Agles coughed, "Well, Alex... It seems you've made your point. I'll be um, er, going now," He made a speedy exit as Mrs. Talens hurried after him, still complaining about her lack of food.

Maya tensed up once again as rapid footsteps headed back for the cabins. The same axe murderer as before? She took a deep breath and remainded perfectly still just as Seb shot straight past her, "Seb? Hey Seb! Seb! A little help here!" She shouted. The boy gasped, his emo face turning much more pale than before - if that was actually physically possible. He shook his head and continued to run.

Saphira blocked out everything around her and heard the bones in Jake's ankle clicking and fusing together again.

Alex pulled Cathy into a one armed hug.
"Teamwork! YEAH!" he let go and walked off. "Now if you'll excuse me, my dinner is burning my sensitive region."

Leon began jogging in the direction where the trees were less thin. Surely he'd be able to find his way out now? He hadn't really gone that deep into the forest. After a while he got tired so he slowed down. To occupy himself and take his mind off the fact that it was getting dark, he was lost and it was getting a little colder, he pulled out the mobile phone and flipped it open in an attempt to figure out who it belonged to.

Sophie flipped open her phone once again, breathing heavily and tugging at strands of her hair. The stress wasn't good, not at all. She dialed Seb's number, "Seb, you utter idiot!" She screamed down the phone, "Seb! If anyone finds out, I- I- I-" She sighed and waited for him to answer, "You do care about this baby don't you?!"

Cathy blushed awkwardly and muttered a quick, "Thanks."

Jake gritted his teeth, "Oh God," He said quietly. He bit deep into his lip, drawing blood.

"You think this is hard on you?" Saphira hissed as she felt the world spin around her.

Leon nearly dropped the phone.
"Sophie..?" he askedout of disbelief. The pregnant girl that Alex was angsting over?

"Excuse me?" Sophie froze, clinging onto the table top for support, "Who is this?!"

"I think it's hard on both of us," Jake hissed back.

---

"Anyone want to help me now?" Maya called at the emptiness, "Anyooooone? Anyone around that isn't an axe wielding maniac?" She shouted, "Please?" Her voice came out as a wimper this time as the darkness began to close in and the cold air thudded through her veins.

Leon cleared his throat and began speaking in a deeper voice.
"Seb, you idiot. You're the one that phoned me. Shouldn't you know who the father of your own baby is?" he growled, purposely using the last statement to find out if the father really was Seb.

Saphira healed the last of the leg and then shuddered. She leaned forwards and brushed Jake's fringe off of his sweaty forehead.
"I... which... ar-" she passed out before she finished her sentence.

"Oh! Um... Right!" Sophie coughed awkwardly and breathed a short sigh of relief. She pulled a chair up from the kitchen table and sat down, idly pulling at the flower petals on the table in front of her, "Have you found out if Alex knows yet?" Her voice was tense.

Jake stopped and stared for a minute, "Shit." He tried to move his sprained arm and winced. Gritting his teeth he picked the small girl up and began to carry her towards where he had spotted Josh.

Leon had stopped walking now and was deep in thought. He had to be really careful with the words he chose.
"How would Alex find out?" he chose to avoid the question by asking another one.

Alex was wincing as he ate his dinner.
"I take it I should never shove hot food down there?" Josh asked. Alex nodded grimly.

"We've been over this!" Sophie cried, "Do you ever listen?!" She sighed and paused for a second, "I never had sex with the guy. Sooner or later he'll figure it out... Now, does he know or not?"

Jake struggled to walk towards the group on the sand, eventually he reached them and looked desperately between Alex and Josh, "Um... we have a problem?" He rested Saphira on the floor.

Josh threw his empty paper plate into the fire and stared in horror at his unconscious girlfriend.
"If you tried to date rape my girlfriend-" he snarled protectively.

Leon coughed and shuffled his feet.
"How am I supposed to know if he knows or not?!"

"WHAT!? Date-rape?" Jake staggered backwards, "I did not date rape your girlfriend. Speaking of which what happened to mine?" He eyed Josh suspiciously.

"Oh I don't know... ASK SOMEONE!?" Sophie howled down the phone, "Just find out please," She sobbed, "Please find out, for me, Seb," She took on a calmer tone, "For me..."

"Oh yeah because he won't find out if I go around saying 'Hey you guys, does Alex know the baby isn't his?'" Leon whined.

Josh scooped up Saphira and headed back to her cabin.
"I don't know. Maybe she's back at the cabin." Alex shrugged and followed them. Lexy, not wanting to be left alone also trotted after them.

"Well then, just be more perceptive," Sophie growled, "I'm sure you can pick up on the gossip," She snarled, "It's not like anything ever remains secret in that place anyway."

Catherine looked around, unsure of who to follow, remained fixed to the spot.

Jake rolled his eyes and headed back to Maya's cabin, only to find no one there. He collapsed on the steps outside the cabin and rested his head in his hands. He wanted to scream and he had no idea why. This school, these people - sometimes he just couldn't stand it.

"Come on Jake, out of the way." Josh requested softly as he tried to carry Saphira to her bed.

Leon frowned.
"Why'd you even cheat in the first place?" he asked softly.

"Because you're such an innocent in this," Sophie avoided the question, "What about Mayleen, Seb? Where does she come in all of this?!"

"Ugh," Jake grunted something incoherable and slumped off back towards the campfires. He pulled a blanked around himself and sat by the flames.

Cathy crept out from a nearby campfire and sat beside Jake, "I'm worried." She muttered.

"How so..?" Jake smiled softly.

Cathy rubbed at her eyes, "I was mean to Tom earlier and he hasn't shown up for ages! I don't know what to do or where he's gone. And Leon! Even Leon's missing!"

"I'm sure Tom will show up... As for Leon, do you fancy a trip into the woods. He may have... got lost?"

Leon scoffed out of disgust.
"You know why I cheated on her. I want to know why you did it." he insisted. He panicked a little as he realised how much of a bluff he had just made.

Joah laid Saphira on the bottom bunk because the top bunk was a bit beyond his capabilities.
"Saphira... Come on." he whisped, trying to coax her awake. Alex awkwardly stood in the doorframe as Lexy wriggled into the room and checked on her lizard.

"What?! I do not know or care about what possessed you to betray that pathetic little-" She cut herself short, "Go on then... Tell me." She smirked, her hand finally dropping from the vase of flowers, "Why did you betray your precious little girlfriend? The one who you moved away with for so so long."

Jake and Cathy trudged into the forest calling Leon's name, "LEON! Come on!" Cathy whined, "Leeeooooonnnnnnn!"

"Shh!" Jake whispered, he could swear he could hear a voice although it wasn't Leon's it was much deeper.

They moved in closer and crept behind a tree to listen to the silouhetted figure.
