Silverdale Boarding School For The Gifted DO NOT REPLY

"Will this affect the halloween party?"
"They should be gone by then but if they stay longer then they should then we will just have to be cautious." There was a huge sigh of relief from everybody and among that their was the occasional groan of somebody who didn't like Halloween.

"Please student do not panic but the inspectors may very well ask you questions and if you are sent to an office then there will be nobody else there so troubleshoot leaflets and help information will be posted into every dorm this afternoon...I do advise that you take time to read it" she announced. Theer were a lot of questions but she was prepared for them.

It sounded like the matter had been thought out. Josh felt the whole of the magic disappear as they spoke. They would no longer look unique until the inspectors left. He had a question.
"So when are they coming and how long will they be here for?"

"They will be coming tomottow for one week" panic rose across the room.
"Right back row stand and exit please and if you have further questions there will be a phone service linked to my office on 987654321" she said. Making sure she had given enough time for leaflets to be handed out she allowed the students to leave.
Outside looked differant, staff were covering the walls with boring posters and hiding who they really were. She had always been taught to be herself but she knew that right now that was the worst thing she could do. What if they found out, took her away and cut her up to tiny pieces in a sience lab. She shuddered as she walked to her dorm.

Seth had missed the assembly and was shocked to hear a large amound to leaflets fall through his door. He gathered them and began to read. His eyes widened at the firs few words.

This wasnt a problem for Tyler, he had been hiding his whole life. All that he had to do was act normal and that would be no problem.

Maya got to her room and sat on her bed she felt scared, what would happen if they found out?
Maya lay on her bed worrying and she lost control she put her hand out to reach for her watch and it went shooting to the other side of the room.
Oh god i really need to learn to control this. It only happens with strong emotion so i need to learn not to break down so easily.

Kyra couldnt believe what was happening. She felt dizzy suddenly, why was her whole world falling apart. What if they closed the school. She was practically going into a panic attack. It wouldn't be too hard for her to control two of her powers but she would have to be careful about her anger levels with quintessence one slip and the whole school could be in danger and it would be all her fault.

Everybody filed out of assembly while muttering to each other in their groups. Saphira headed up to her room with Josh where they started to help each other with homework. As they worked together heads close Saphira realized that she liked Josh more then before. She felt better about going ot the party with him.

Alex paced his room. He had just read a booklet that had been pushed under his door and he wasn't happy about it. Sure he couldn't use his powers any more anyway because he can no longer feel the happiness that used to fill him. He kicked the bed post in anger.

Kyra scanned the leaflet carefully. She had never noticed that most of the doors were soundproof in the school and this explained the bell theory. Now the inspectors would not hear bells going off constantly. There was no use in sitting twiddling her thumbs. She aksed Saphira to call her when the staff meeting was over to make sure that there were no mistakes before entering the office again. She pulled out her folder and began to read "Kyra has some behavior issues and is a very quiet and sensitive girl. She sometimes acts immature and..." she threw the file on the floor and stamped on it while considering what she had just done. Hopefully they wouldn't notice the gigantic footprint across her folder.

She began to search through the cabinet again. She didn't want to invade the private lives of her freinds but when she found Tyler's folder she couldn't help herself. She pocketed a few papers and left the office. The coast was clear as her phone hadn't rang.

Maya sat on her bed drawing as usual it seemed like the only thing she did in her free time.
I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight, i mean their coming tommorow and that assembly took most of the afternoon which doesn't give me much time to get over my panic. Maya Worried.

Jake sat at the desk in his room he wasn't really that bothered about the inspectors because he had hidden all of his life to avoid being found out.

Soon it was getting dark and the curtains were drawn in several rooms and lights were switched on. Saphira closed her book and suggested dinner so both her and Josh headed down to the cafeteria.

The lines were ridiculously long and full of people shifting from one foot to the other. They both joined the queue and waited for their dinner.

Alex sat on his bed shuffling through the wedding pictures of Emily and Russell. They had been married for a fortnight now and wrote to him weekly. Thinking about this made him remember the letter he had opened previously. He put his hands in his pockets and felt his fingers bump into it. He had put it back in his pocket earlier because he kept worrying that somebody would find it and read it before him. He withdrew his hand and put the pictures of Russell and Emily in the envelope and put it neatly in his wardrobe.

Maya knocked on Emma's door.
"Yeah!" Emma said slowly looking very bored.
"Want to go get dinner?"
"Sure i'm starving!"
The inspection is getting closer but maybe it could be fun! Thought Maya. I shouldn't waste time thinking about stupid inspectors i've got more important things to think about like... the dance and Seth. Maya felt herself blushing thinking about him. But my night will probably be ruined by the barbie dolls that follow him he'll probably end up with one of them when he sees what their like.

Alex headed downstairs for dinner. He wasn't hungry but he hoped to find some friends there. He hadn't seen many friends all day seeing as he shopped alone and spent a lot of time in his room. He spotted Josh and Saphira quite far ahead of him in the queue and a few other kids he knew from class sat down eating plates of hot food.

Kyra's eyes snapped oepn but the truth was she had no idea that she had fallen asleep. 5.15 am. She mumbled something as she picked out a fitted but light dress and a pair of black heeled boots. She jumped as the mirror began to talk to her. This had haqppened a lot lately, no doubt related to Quintessence she sighed knowing that for this week she needed to ignore it.
"Ed i have told you 1000 times, dont scare me like that in a morning"
The mirror ignored her "Will miss be wearing the black earings today or the white"
"Black Ed" she replied.
Across the room Saphira leaned of to Sophie "Err... is Kyra feeling okay?" she aksed as she gestured at the girl who was talking to nobody.
She smiled at both of them as she left the room for breakfast.

'Well the schools stuffed' thought Katia leaving the hall and waiting outside for carter to come out.....
....and she waited...
...and waited.....
....when she didn't see carter come out she looked back in the hall, and she saw that carter was still sitting in her seat, staring into space....still
Katia walked up to her
''Carter?'' she said giving her a light shove.
''What am i gonna do Kat?!'' Carter said suddenly snapping into attention
''eerrr....''
''I mean, if i don't get control of my powers then i'll never be able to live with my dad and my step-mom and my new little half sister''
''your what?!''
''I mean, what if i get angry, or lazy, or jealous, or greedy or seriously greedy for food or lusterus, What will i do then?!''
''well...''
''i mean..''
''Carter!SHUT UP!!'' Carter looked like she was going to cry ''first lets get something to eat, then tell me about your step-mom and stuff that you havn't told me about, then i'll say i'm sorry for punching you and then you'll forgive me... how about we start from there?''
Carter nodded and they joined the Queue for dinner.

After eating their dinner, Saphira and Josh headed their separate ways and went to their rooms. It was not long before both of them were fast asleep.

Alex lay back on his bed. He had just come back form the cafeteria and he felt a little sick after eating food he did not want. Slowly his eyes closed and slowly he fell asleep.

Serra and Claire had bought their outfits and attended the assembly.
"I need some thinking space. I'll be leaving in the morning." Serra yawned and walked into her room, setting the alarm for 5am.
"Wait what do you meen thinking space?!" Claire shouted after her but got no reply.

The night had passed and it was about 5am and Serra was packing a few clothes before headding out to the bus station.

Kyra sighed. Sunday morning. Today she would celan up the room and do laundry as she had no idea if the inspectors would do health and safety assesments on the rooms.

She started with the bathroom carefully aranging wash bags into a neat row and cleaning all the surfaces, she cleaned the toothpase tube and arranged the toothbrushes. She hoped that the others wouldnt mind. She realised that her own things could do with a sort while she was in the mood so she cleared her wardrobe of clothing that she didnt want carefully listing what had gone so that she could buy some new things from town. Her clothes were pretty and some almost new but they either didnt fit or she didnt want to wear them. A pile built up on her bed.

Alex sat up and rubbed his eyes. Not another of those horrible dreams. It was early yet he didn't feel like going back to sleep. He got dressed and decided to go for a walk before breakfast. He walked slowly and eventually reached the door leading outside.

It was cold and a light breeze blew past Alex as he wandered around near the trees and flowerbeds. He watched a few birds fluttering and fighting in the bushes and a squirrel leaped from branch to branch with skill. It was a wonderful morning.

Maya sat up in bed and reached for her watch she sighed and gussed she had to get up.
The inspections tommorow i'm not sure what to make of it. Since powers is changing to drama if the inspectors come i suppose it will work because it will explain why we are out of our seats. And we do have normal average school lessons. Thought Maya. She got up and ran to the bathroom before Katia and Claire could stop her. Maya liked getting to the bathrrom first even when she was at home she raced her brother there and now she was used to it and did the same at school.

Katia and Carter walked back to their rooms while Carter explained
''my parents split up about 4 years ago, my mum got a boyfriend and she told him about me and he didn't want her to keep in touch with me anymore, so she didn't, My dad said that i could go live with him and his new wife when i get my powers under control so that i don't accidently hurt the baby when it arrives''
''oh..why didn't you tell me this before?''
''You never asked'' Carter yawned '' i think i'll get ready for bed, its about half 8 so i'll probs be in bed by 9''
''kay night'' said Katia turning into her room and picking up her book, and starting to read.

Saphira shuffled under the covers. She was too tired to get up but she kept hearing peculiar sounds coming from the other side of the room. She slowly opened her eyes and lifted her head gently off the pillow. She blinked and squinted before pushing the covers out of her face and being blinded by the light.

Kyra was rearranging her things in the wardrobe. She folded her clothes and put them neatly on the shelf. Saphira groaned and turned over. Why did people do these things so early in the morning on a Sunday?!

Maya let the warm water sooth her and made shapes with it.
I won't be able to use my water powers much when the inspectors come. Thought Maya sadly.
She grabbed her towel dried herself and put the days clothes on. She left the room and decided to go on a walk.

Kyra left the school and wlaked into town. As she approached the large buildign she heard the familiar sounds from inside. She was shocked to find that there were already cars on the road but ignored it as she entered the building. The powerful scents inside were beautiful and distracting from the cold inside the building.

Saphira sniffed in satisfaction as Kyra stopped clattering about and left the room. Peace at last. She closed her eyes and silently started to fall asleep.

CRASH
Thunk
"OW!" cried Saphira as she shot up and cracked her head on the roof of the bunk bed. Many a time had she done that and she still wasn't used to it. Alex had crashed into the room for no apparent reason at this time of the morning at this time of week.
"There's a squirrel down on the grounds that just fell out of a tree!" Alex cried as Saphira rubbed her sore head and tried not to cry.

She was surprised at this because she didn't think Alex was that caring for animals but she got up before heading to the bathroom to get dressed.

As Kyra eneterd the building Loud music echoed in her ears, not the type she enjoyed but still music. She silently stood listening to the music. It was somehow soothing and it made you want to forget about all your problems. She would be away at least an hour and a half so she hoped that the others wouldn't wonder where she had gone.

Tyler was still asleep, he was a light sleeper but staying up the morning before had really worn him out. His eyes snapped open half blinding him, his only response was to turn over and go back to sleep. After all who got up early on a Sunday?
